April 18, 2017, Bring Your Thing welcomed everyone to their 4th event hosted at the Seniors Association Kingston. The theme of this event was “Remember When.” Everyone who came was invited to bring an item that they felt reminded them of a previous time and created a sense of nostalgia. We also wanted to encourage people to discover heritage through the stories of others. On display were artifacts from several local museums including, The Frontenac County Schools Museum, the Museum of Health Care, and the Pump House Steam Museum. The event was capped off with a presentation by local historian and professor John Fielding.
Kingstonian John Fielding gave a historical presentation to everyone about local history.
One woman brought in her dress bought in Kingston in the 1950’s. In her words, “They don’t make dresses like this anymore.”
Here we have everyone exploring all of the great artifacts in the room. R
